Industry Outlook: Next 40 Years, SEAFOOD INDUSTRY
The environment situation at this decade is at the brink of meltdown. Severe storm with the unprecedented magnitude along with uncertain weather & season change made fishing so difficult. We as the seafood manufacturer are losing ability to predict the cost of production & several measures to make fishing sustainable have been introduced such as the effort to eliminate IUU Fishing (Illegal, Unreported & Unregulated Fishing), new fisheries bill that will extend no-fishing zone from 3kms off-shore to 5kms off-shore etc. However, despite of the good will, there are still dispute between different group of fishermen this whose having conflict of interest and this can still the whole process if they can not compromise with each other.
If we look forward to the next 40 years with positive mind, we may project a nice picture of sustainable, responsible and environmental friendly fishing which is the major theme of the world community today.
In the next 40 years we will surely see the quantum leap of fish aquaculture technique which will be major food supply replacing wild caught fishes sooner or later. However, if we think pessimistically, in the next 40 years mankind may continue to harm the world environment & diminish fish supply to the level that we would have no surplus supply for trade anymore.

Project like food bank, Poly culture farming system, extended irrigation system that provide farmers with more access to water, could seeding technique which not just provide water for farms but also act as barrier to severe storm, and most of all the philosophy of sufficiency economy, these are the ways we can adopt & adapt to counter the crisis, to ensure that the next 40 years will not be hell for the entire human being. So please treat our world nice today otherwise mankind may come to extinction in the next 40 years for sure.
