ghanyapad tantipipatpong President’s Message: TFPA 2011-2013

The auspicious occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Thai Food Processors’ Association (TFPA) is considered a very important circumstance for the association. For the past 40 years, the association has grown along with the development of the country’s food industry. Our main roles have been to promote the advancement of food production technology as well as to foster trade negotiations and exports, and also encourage Thai entrepreneurs to become the world’s main exporters for various food products.

As the world population becomes growing steadily, now is a very important opportunity for Thailand’s food industry to grow and be more competitive in the global trade arena. Therefore, TFPA’s role in the future is mainly to promote sustainable development throughout the supply chain both in the agricultural sector and fishery sector. We have to focus on increasing product yields per land unit, efficiently managing agricultural costs as well as developing logistics systems. In order to achieve these goals, we will need to collaborate more with other related organizations.

At the same time, we will still play a role in promoting value-added products and reducing entrepreneurs' costs as from acting as a representative for trade negotiations and information intermediary among the government sector, the association members and other entrepreneurs in order to remain competitive in both local and global markets.

As the president of the Thai Food Processors’ Association, I would like to extend my gratitude to a number of government offices including the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Public Health for their support. I would also like to express my appreciation to the Federation of Thai Industries, the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Thai National Shippers’ Council, the Thai Frozen Foods Association, the Thai Metal Packaging Association and other units and organizations involved for their ongoing cooperation.

Finally, I would like to forward my thankfulness toward the former president of the association, the Board of Committee, the Advisors as well as every single member of our association for playing a crucial part in developing the Thai Food Processors’ Association to be progress and sustainable grow until present time and expect to foresee more continual collaboration into the future.
